No matter WHERE it is, they just ASSUME it means their god. Be it Money, pledges etc. Why is this?
Yes money says "in god we trust" but no where does it say WHO"S god, or WHICH god. It's just GOD in general.
Also why do Xtians constantly ask me "do you believe in god" just because I'm an Indian and NOT a Xtian?

True enough. Southerners hate when people "come down here to try to change things" and if they get there way, in a few hundred years they will be like the extremists in the Middle East who still live in the 1400s. Not only is assuming that it's 'their' god silly, it's arrogant and ignorant. Not only did Xtians rape the native land and the Indians, they enslaved the blacks and still to this day pressure and mistreat people not in their religion. Proof that power corrupts.
I won't even talk about the many who do not believe in god or empower a god to rule their lives.

We Xtians believe that God means OUR God for the same reasons every other religion believes it. Incidentally, I've known Indians who followed their own Native American religion and also believed in Christ. That would make them Christian also. Buddhists say there is more than one path and I can believe that but maybe that doesn't make me a Buddhist. As far as $$ goes, the 'In God We Trust' is the only thing that gives it any credibility since the gold and silver was taken out of the money back in 1960s. But reality is that no God of any religion would be foolish enough to back up the American monetary system.

The true answer is because wanna be Christians are ignorant. The first question that wanna be Christians ask me is "Where do you go to church?" I say, "At the river." or "My backyard." or "I attend pow-wows." Then they look at me as if to say, "You're a heathen!" Next they proceed to tell me what the Bible says. I hate when people ask "where do you go to church?" I'll never forget when I first got my nose pierced, this so called Christian woman told me that it was a "savage thing to do" because "we live in a Christian society." I told her that this may be a Christian society but I walk the Red Road. She didn't have a clue what I was saying. For many years, North Carolina did not have a lottery because the Bible Belt Christians kicked aganist it but each time you went to Virginia - which is only about 50 miles from the North Carolina border - all you saw were those same Bible Belt Christians in line buying lotto tickets. Like I've said so many times, true Christians are similiar to traditional Indian People because they worship in Spirit and Truth and they don't try to force their beliefs on anyone. Most of the time true Christians don't draw attention to themselves.

Maybe that is their own personal greed issue not wanting to share : )

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had a world where everybody said,
'We don't know?'
The fact is that you're surrounded by God and you don't see God,
Because you KNOW ABOUT God.
The final barrier to the vision of God is your God concept.
You miss God because you think you know.
The highest knowledge of God is to know God as unknowable.
All revelations, however divine, are never any more than a finger pointing at the moon.
As we say in the East, 'When the sage points to the moon,
All the idiot sees is the finger'.

Was never a believer of deities, never was and never will be a Christian, or any religion for that matter... though from the standpoint of a fellow minority group in this country in regard to beliefs, I hear ya... Tired of the dominating "majority" and everything always having to be them and their way and assuming the rest of us either have no gods, no morals, or whatever else.

I have asked this same question myself my friend, People assume that because you are an Indian you do not believe in god....I feel basically because I do not belong to their churches.....when I am asked to come to their churches and I say I am not interested...I am called Heathen lol....I do not have to go to their house of worship to pray to GOD...I probably pray more than these so called Christians....my thing is I have respect for all beliefs......but I see that because I have my own beliefs they are not respected.....We have words that we hold dear to us that we remember ....not words that are written by men on paper....we believed always in oral traditions.....Once an elder told me when I was young that the book they carry they do not even tell the truth on.....just look at when they put their hands on it in court and they still lie.......like I said I believe in God but because I do not believe in what some person wants me to believe because it is their own belief.......you call me a heathen!....lol like my brother once said......it is better to be a heathen than to accept what they want you to believe in........good question TwoCrows

The history of the US dollar has been well documented. It is "our" God being spoken of on our money. Also, I'm sure Christians aren't the only ones who ask people if they believe in God. Many Christians are new and still don't have the knowledge of how to approach others and witness to them. I have recognized more Christians just by the way they live their lives. People see it and say, "Man, I want that assurance and hope too." It's so simple. Please don't hate a group of people for what they believe and we'll try to do the same.

You could look at it many ways brother. Just to give you a little background on me so you can tell my thoughts on this are not just one sided. I'm Christian, but very open to hearing about other religious thoughts. Especially ones that share the same God as Christians. Here is my thought on this. First you talked about why would God not just make us robots, or in your words, "Good People" THink about it like this.... God already has the perfect slaves as you will. The Angels. There are stories in the Bible that talk about the power of the angels, a power that no man could touch and completely listen to whatever God tells them. In besides Satan, which a form of Muslim believes that the only way to God is through Satan. He is the one that is meant to give us the challenge of life, to show us the darkness and experience we need to truly decided which part we will follow. If you will, would you rather have a boyfriend of girlfriend that has no thoughts of their own and loves you just because they were programmed to love you. Or would you rather have another that has seen what is out there, and still chooses to be with you? As far as war goes, God might care, hell I'm not sure. But if you follow the Bible anyone that believes in God and accepts Jesus for dying for our sins you will be granted into Heaven. Seeing as the Muslim group does not think that Jesus died for their Sins then they will go to Hell. (Just based on the New Testament Bible) But in my own thoughts, I believe anyone that Believes in God will be granted into Heaven. In many cases, (not all) if a child is brought up in a Christian family will remain so, into adulthood. I don't see God sending them to Hell because of their up bringing, but that is a mystery. I cant tell you what Gods plan is and I don't think anyone can. ha ha As far as your title question, who knows ha ha. I mean Humans have created computers that **** up all the time, but the speed in which a computer can calculate and communicate over distance is amazing. Though they don't see the world around them or understand it. Maybe we are like that, we see the world different and can do things God can not, like (Live in Sin) but we don't understand what is going on in the larger scale of the universe.

can indians not be christian then? hmmm we learn something new every day. God is God by whatever name people call him. did you know that cosmic , catholic and pantheist mean exactly the same thing. Oh it is only american money which says `in god we trust` the rest of the world is not so vulgar and there are far more of us out here than the american education system wants you to realise. that is why there are pressure groups in that poor benighted colony trying to ban the internet and why you poor sods are brainwashed from very early childhood to pledge allegiance to a worthless piece of cloth

From reading this I can tell you have a personal bias against christians. I understand though b/c I once asked the same question, haha.
In the U.S. currency we know that this is the One True God, not just the Christian God but everybodies God. It doesn't say gods it says GOD, meaning it comes from a monotheistic religion like Christianity.

How do you know they ask you if you believe in God because of your ethnicity? I highly doubt that becuase the question "do you believe in God" is very common and is asked to people from all cultures and walks of life.
