She was one of the Tapas 9 that night.

She spotted a man carrying a bundle that could have been a child.

Then she said it was definitely a child.

Then she said it was not only definitely a child, but definitely madeleine.

Then she said it was not only definitely a child and definitely madeleine but the man was also now running away, not walking.

Wonder what it will be next week? Maybe he yelled out, 'Ive snatched Madeleine McCann!'?

Anyways all we know about Jane Tanner so far is:

She has 2 children, the eldest the same age as Madeleine

This same daughter spent the night of May 3, vomiting as she was sick. But don't worry, both her parents rather than spend time with her were with the McCanns, but like them did 'spot checks' on their children.

So apart from the fact Jane Tanners story keeps changing and gets more elaborate as time goes on, she also has the moral compass of a snake to leave a vomiting 3 year old to her own devices while she and her husband went out that night

Well according to woman, (the one who was asking the question's at the quiz in the bar that night) who was sat at their table around the time of the alleged sighting, no one left the group at this time!
Another witness, Jeramey Wilkins, also says no one passed him at the time either!

An interesting question, with some intriguing answers posted. There is something very odd about the whole setup with the Mccann's. There are far too many coincidences for my liking. Just hope that the police think the same and are investigating thoroughly. In fact the old bill probably have their suspicions but don't have enough hard evidence.

I don't know about all those stories, stories are there to be told, they can be guesses, they are opinions, they hopefully are going to eventually lead to the truth which I think is not far from being revealed.

but

This kind of irresponsible parents should not be 'allowed' by God to have kids. They don't deserve it. How could they ever leave those children alone and they so called the 'adults' have all gone out having fun - and the worst of all that makes me wonder y, is that the holiday home HAD BABYSITTING facilities..... why, why, why.... how come they haven't thought of using the facilitiy, how come that particular night the poor Madeleine disappeared?? This is what I do not understand and I can not digest in the whole thing, yes kids have disappeared in the past , but this story it's strange, strange, strange... don't u find?
Don't you guys find Madelaine's dad acting a bit suspiciously? May be I am imagining things! Let's just hope, let's just pray we are all wrong, and Madelaine is somewhere safe and she will be returned unharmed by the sicko that abducted her to her parents!
Poor sweet little angel. I really hope she is alive!!

I know her story is a load of rubbish. The fact that she now definitely saw it was Madeleine didn't stop her continuing to the Tapas bar and bothering to mention this mere bagatelle. However, if she had left her own 3 yr old alone, vomiting, why should she be bovvered?
Incidentally Dave, where did you get the story about Tanner's sick child?

Madelline was 4 years old and quite tall for her age if you look at the photographs. It would be impossible for someone to carry a four year old in there arms and for anyone to mistake it. Pick up a four year old for yourself and tell me you can't tell its a child or not in your arms. A newborn baby may be a 4 year old no way. She said she spotted a bundle that could have been a child - a four year old will not be a bundle in your arms - these were supposed intelligent people even she would know the difference. What if her child had vomitted and choked in its sleep. These people are the worst load of liars I have ever encountered. Nothing adds up. If Gerry thought it funny the door was ajar, why did he go back to the bar and dismiss it. I would not have gone back if I thought someone had been in my apartment. The whole thing is absolutely crazy.

So Lori Campbell has now written a wonderful article in the Sunday Mirror saying that she knows the child was abducted from the apartment and carried out through a side window and that the blood in the apartment can't be Maddy's because it was too old and it would have been spotted immediately. "Cuddle Cat was apparently found on top of a cupboard when Kate went into the room and not in bed with Maddy ,where she had left it. Oh wonderful stuff ,and all this from the woman who insisited from day one that Murat had something to do with the disappearance What drivel.
Why did Kate wash Cuddle Cat ? Her daughter had disappeared ,she was so distraught yet she had time to wash the toy which should have been forensically tested. Very odd. If as Campbell says ,the abducter climbed out of the side window with Maddy ,how come Jane Tanner spotted them in a different area ? Oh and she said this abduction only took 5 minutes. What a quick acting person !

See you've also been reading the Telegraph!

Apparently, the Paynes used a baby monitor.

The revelation that Jane Tanner left her sick 3 year old alone so she could join her husband and their friends at the tapas bar is disturbing.

As is the revelation in the same article that Gerry McCann told police that he noticed the door to the childrens' bedroom open and assumed Madeleine had been disturbed by the twins crying and went into her parents' room, but didn't check. So not only did he not do a proper visual check on the children, he went back to the tapas bar assuming that his children had been crying!

What kind of people are these?

The Telegraph also identifies the "mystery person" as Diane Webster, Fiona Payne's mother, who told police that each couple checked only on their own children and not the others', contradicting statements of the group (notably the McCanns' and Matthew Oldfield's) that they checked on each others' children.

I have been reading alot of the stories on the 'tapas 9' on the mirror forums, quite an interesting read on everyones views.

I'm wondering if the UK Police are taking any notes over what is going on? I am hoping that someone is going to get to the bottom of this quite soon.

These people disgust me. How could she leave a sick 3 year-old child alone. What if she had been sick in the night and choked on her vomit (this has happened to my own daughter twice, but I was there to help her thankfully). It's bad enough leaving your kids at all, but when they are sick too is just lower than low. Social services need to look at the whole party. These people obviously treasure their nights out more than they do their own children.

As for the regular changes to her story, they should ignore her evidence altogether. She is obviously an unreliable witness and if it ever came to court her evidence would be thrown out anyway.

It really gets more and more disturbing as the story comes out. Leaving an ILL tot alone? Disgusting.

And would you sit and watch someone carry off what you are sure was your friends child? You're not human if so.

What can we conclude about her? As disgusting and in denial as the rest of the creeps.

Oh dear, what a suspicious mind I have.

Something that really leaped out at me from that article was the statements from other guests that Maddy was not really a little angel, that the McCanns had trouble sometimes getting her to go to bed, and one night she ran away and hid for half an hour.

In other words, like many small girls, she could be a willful little madam.

Couple that with the arrival of twins ( one of each darling, our family would be complete with just them, pity we had Maddy first ) plus an irritable father plus "My God, here we are trying to get ready to go out and this little cow won't get ready for bed!" and what do we have?

Of course this is a totally fictitious scenario and I do not for one moment suggest it is anywhere near the truth.
