I've repeatedly heard from some Americans that US would not be safe after the departure of George Bush from the presidency.

How many of you think that the 9/11 attack did not have to do anything at all with US actions in the middle-east prior to the period?

How many of you think that US has actually become a safer place as a result of George Bush after 9/11?

Yes, I believe the US has become a safer place as a result of George Bush. No, I do not believe that because we are safer now that we are completely safe. The threat of terrorism has always been there- the fact that more people are aware of it now is the reason most do not feel as safe.

"How many of you think that the 9/11 attack did not have to do anything at all with US actions in the middle-east prior to the period?"

There are many reasons: our allies, our enemies, our culture, our symbols (the American flag is an abomination to some not for what it represents but for the symbols and colors used within it), their religion, their leaders, their culture...

9/11 wasn't the first attack, it was the first attack people really sat up and took notice. Most all of the previous attacks were scoffed (airline hostages), mocked (first two WTC car bombs), or discounted as being a fluke (USS Cole).

Only a Democrat would say no . I can't believe they Bash Bush Of coarse not ever being able to back up what they say do to they have a problem with the truth. And then unbelievably again try to make Clinton look like one of the best Presidents ever. Now compare the two. Bush and Clinton Pros and Cons of each. If you do the research using only FACTS NO Democrat spin just the facts! Clinton will be in the top three of the worst Presidents while Bush will be in the top 5 of the best .Now compare Regan to Carter! Regan will be in the top 2 Best While Carter has the title of #1 The worst President ever and this is why Democrats have to lie!

Actually, it had a lot to do with the US meddling in the Midde East in the past 40 years.

No. The US has NOT become a safer place as a result of George Bush since 9-11.

In fact, we are in greater danger NOW, then ever before.

I think we're safer while he's in office - because he's shown that he will come after you! But when he leaves, the next President will have to face that same challenge - depending upon their response, will determine how much security our nation will have!

You have to be willing to use force if necessary!

Under GW our government has gone out of it's way to start problems with other countries. If we had just stayed at home in the first place and securred our borders with adequate pier inspections and upgraded FAA equipment, we would be safer and we wouldn't just be out there sacrificing soldiers and making more enemies.

Do you mean are we safe from terrorist attacks or safe from legitimate governments (i.e. North Korea)?

It is much more difficult to prevent terrorist attacks than to defend against legitimate militaries because the terrorists are willing to sacrifice their own lives to kill Americans. I don't feel any more or less safe regarding terrorist attacks with Bush as President.

However, the Iraq War has greatly depleted our military resources. I don't feel safe with a President who has committed our military strictly to one cause to the deterioration of all other military needs. Does our current military have the necessary resources to protect us against North Korea or China? I don't think so and that scares me. (I wish more people understood that a purchase from Wal-Mart is money spent to build the Chinese army.)

Overall, I will be happy to see the end of Bush's presidency.

no, and it doesn't matter whether its a democratic or republican president.Until our judicial system gets reworked, this country will not be any safer. If we started making examples out of some of these people who do heinous crimes people would start thinking before they act. Here are some good ideas to lower the crime rate and stupidity in this country. If you commit murder-you die
you steal-loose a hand
Your commit a sexual assault-well,you loose that special part.
You cross our borders illegally-you get shot dead
Also, have a marking tattooed on their foreheads explaining their crimes.
I know nothing of this nature will ever happen, but it's just a thought.Basiclly, let the punishment fit the crime.

The US is definitely more safer now than it was during Clinton's administration. How many US citizens have been slaughtered by terrorists on US soil under President Bush and how many under President Clinton?
