If all else fail, download and install AMCAP:

Sounds like the operating system does not recognize the device/webcam. Have you tried using a different USB port on the computer? If so, does it do the same thing, not recognize the device? Have you installed all the drivers and associated software for the webcam?

Install the drivers & software from the cd first before you connect the webcam!
Follow the instructions on screen when to connect the webcam!

You will need to install the driver for the webcam. It should be on the CD that came with it.

because you have not yet installed the driver for the webcam. This would have been supplied with the webcam on CD.

it is simply because the webcam is a hardware device which is connected to the cpu via usb connection but dont worry it has no damage!

plug camera in then go to control panel then system then click the hardware tab then the device manager tab the camera should be in the list with a yellow ? on it .if it has put the cd in the drive right click the ? and update driver

when u get a webcam you get a cd with it you have to install it. if you have already done it then there must be something wrong with the harddrive. take it to you nearby computer shop.

you shold have got a disc with it and just simpley follow the instructions on it its very easy then when you go on msn maximise the msn screen then look right at the top where says tools and go down to webcam settings and click that then follow it up k good luck x bex

in case you have a motive force for the webcam on CD or downloaded, unplug your cam and reload the motive force then plug on your webcam, if not, bypass to the webcam producer's internet site and obtain the latest motive force to your OS and which incorporate your webcam unplugged setting up it then plug on your webcam. it will be acknowledged and the latest motive force put in.
