Some people believe there were only three Axis Countries because of the Tripartrite Treaty. It did not mean Three countries it referred to the three parts of the treaty. Although there were three major powers there were other participants as listed below.
Major Axis powers
* Germany
* Japan
* Italy
Minor powers
* Hungary
* Romania
* Slovak Republic
* Bulgaria
* Yugoslavia
* Croatia
Co-belligerents
* Thailand
* Finland
* Iraq
You could also include Vichy French and Provisional Government of Free India. If you want to view all the governments with sympathy or connected to the Axis event see this site.

Greater Germany, Itlay and Japan, other signitories to the pact of steel where Hungry, Slovakia, Rumania, Vichy, and Bulgaria. Thailand joined the Japanese. Finland made its own agreement with Germany and stuck to it even though the Germans repeatadly requested further aid from then on the Northern Front. Spain and Turkey almost joined the pact, but demanded too much in compensation from the powers.

There were far more than three Axis powers in WWII.
Germany, Japan, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Slovak Republic, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Croatia, Manchuria, Inner Mongolia, Nan King, Burma, Philippines, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, and Vichy France were all part of the Axis.
And there were all sorts of countries that weren't really Axis, but they were Axis sympathizers.
Finland and Iraq weren't exactly Axis countries, but Finland fought the Soviet Union and Iraq fought England during WWII. Thailand wasn't exactly an Axis country, but they were an ally to Japan. Denmark was a "semi-ally" of Germany. In 1941, the UK and USSR invaded Iran, which was friendly to Germany. Portugal was sympathetic to Germany, and objected to Allied activities in their country, but did not actively fight the Allies. The Soviet Union was friendly with Japan through all the war, and friendly to Germany during the first part of the war. Spain was officially neutral, but they gave aid and comfort to the Axis.
"You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
