I don't believe they got any letters that supported their behaviour. If they did, then there needs to be a law made asap that precisely defines how old a child can be before being left alone. Maybe then all these people who defend the McCann's idea of parenting by saying "I've done it too, all parents have" will have to ensure that they themselves "don't do it" again.
This case is interesting from a socialogical point of view too, many people have said that if the McCann's were poor or from a council estate that they would have already been charged with neglect by now. I genuinely think that's true, we just don't expect educated, well-off people to do this kind of thing, we assume that it is only the poor and uneducated that are ignorant enough to believe that it is OK to leave children alone.
There was a case at my sons school last year where a man had his kids for the weekend, (aged 10 and 8), his girlfriend had been round, and he decided it would be a good idea to drive her home and stay at her house drinking for a while. At 3 am the next morning, neighbours were woken up by the kids leaning out of the window shouting, he had locked the front door and they couldn't get out. He lost any contact with the kids for about 8 months for that. Now, why is this case any different from the McCann case? You could actually say that as the kids were older, and he had made the house secure what he did was not as bad as the McCann situation, couldn't you? Why was he investigated (rightly so, as far as I am concerned), when the McCann's won't be? Is it because he DOES live on a Council Estate and he IS in some respects a single parent? I know the McCann situation is out of our Social Services duration, but there have been incidences of people neglecting kids on holiday before that have been investigated when they returned to the UK, haven't there?

If they got thousands of letters from parents then those letters must ALL have asked the same thing. "What the hell were you thinking, leaving 3 young kids alone in an unlocked room, unseen from the restaurant, in a foreign country just so that you could have a few beers with your mates"?

Complete load of crap! every parent i have spoken to has stated they would never consider leaving their kids alone, if indeed they had received such letters i am sure they would have wanted some published, after all they have spent the whole time Maddie has been missing defending themselves, and publishing the letters saying other parents also leave their children would in their eyes justify their actions.

Most people I know have children and not one of them say they would have acted the way the McCanns did.
It is common sense that you dont leave your children unattended. Not at home and certainly not in a place they dont know and that has a swimming pool amongst other things between you and your children!!
I heard a clip on the radio yesterday about how long Madeliene has been missing and Gerry is basically like 'we are innocent of all wrong doing'. Not where is my daughter, i need to know what happened to her!

We are only been told one side of the story, the McCanns side. But we know in our hearts leaving children alone is so wrong. McCanns are so full of lies to draw the law and attention away from themselves. They probably got none or very few.

Dont have faith each and every thing you examine in the newspapers.Im specific they are receiving lots of letters of help because of the fact extremely some human beings understand they are harmless, yet we wont understand how many and that i think of they do desire a appropriate P.R company for the easy reason of looking their daughter.while thepapers are printing lies approximately them its combating human beings from looking,so with a stable P.R company they are able to provide up a number of the nastiness and concentrate on the campaign.

I believe they got thousands of letters but I doubt wether any supporte them.If you look back you will find a comment from one of the relatives(the one running the bank account)where he criticised all the people who had wrote and emailed nasty remarks about them he didnt think they should be doing that because after all the Mcanns had done nothing wrong.I think when he made that statement he still had the beer goggles on

lets be honest its not easy being a good parent and we all make mistakes, but heaven forbid we start leaving our young children alone while we go out with friends.
If parents are writing and saying this, then their letters should be passed to social services for the appropriate action.

Not at all, they just want us to think that so we'd think it was ok to leave your children because others do that and obviously others don't. It's just more cover up lies from the McCanns

im afraid i really cant believe that. im sure that they do get some letters, and some of them might say that, but then i wonder about the parenting skills of the ones that do condone what they did and do admit that they leave their children on their own.
