The Bumbo was fab with our little one, we used it loads from 4 mths onwards till she was big and active enough to wriggle out of it. She loved sitting up and seeing everything, we took it to friends houses with us and used it as a highchair. Buy one on ebay, (try and get one posted in the box) look after it and you'll get most of your money back by selling it on when you've finished with it. That's what we did anyway! Good luck.
WHEN I USED IT AS A HIGHCHAIR - I MEANT AS A FEEDING CHAIR FOR A FEW SPOONFULS OF SOLIDS WHEN WE WERE OUT AT FRIENDS. THE BUMBO WAS ON THE FLOOR AT ALL TIMES SO THERE WAS NO DANGER OF HER FALLING ANYWHERE!!!! SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO BL**DY JUDGE WITHOUT KNOWING THE FULL FACTS DON'T THEY!!!!!
My nephew tried this when he was a year for fun and couldn't get out. He thought it was really funny - he wriggled and writhed but it didn't tip over - that case of baby tipping it over must be very rare in my experience.

Were just selling our bumbo on ebay lol, we bought it for our girl when she was 5 months which was a bit late really. She didn't stay in it for very long because its restrictive to an active baby, but i imagine if you have a baby that will sit still for more than a few minutes then its a good buy.
She stopped going in it at 7 months because she could sit without support and was crawling, also she got to a point where she could almost tip the bumbo backwards.
It came in handy but if we have another baby i'd get one at about 3 months and wouldn't pay full price for one, i'd get one off ebay which is what we did.

I have the Bebepod and wish I had the Bumbo. The bumbo now has a play tray that attaches to it. I think its a great idea cause when my son drops his toys in the Bebepod he tries to lean over and get them and then he ends up crooked.

We used the bumbo seat from when our daughter was 3 months old and she loved it - she liked the feeling of being upright on her own without our hands round her all the time! We used it tons and it was one of the best buys we made.

Bumbo... love it! My three month old can sit up without any trouble, and we can interact and play with me facing him and him not on his back. :) Propping him up with pillows is not the same - he likes the chair, hates to be propped.
I chose the Bumbo because of the attachable tray where we can sit toys for him to touch and feel.

I think they are a HUGE waste of money and reduce important touch contact. More and more reasons to be further away from our offspring. I think there are enough 'things' to pop baby into without a bumbo.
They also look hideous!

Bumbo - grand daughter hated it. by the time she could hold her head up without the support she could climb out it. used it few times, waste of money.

I worked in a nursery which had a bumbo seat, i saw a 7month old baby (he was a chunky monkey) tip it over. He was reaching for a toy and it tipped over and he banged his head. So i most definitely would NOT recommend you purchasing one.
Also you didn't say how old your baby is, as a baby who cannot sit unaided shouldn't be sat for long periods of time, it puts a strain on their back. Your baby should be able to support its head and sit before you put him/her in one of these.
Hope this helps x
I cannot believe the woman who answered you question, and has actually used the bumbo seat as a highchair, how irresponsible. If your child had fell out of the it could have ended up with brain damage or anything. I know a someone who had their baby in a bouncer on the work top she turned her back for a few seconds and the baby bouncer had fallen off and her baby ended up with brain damage. Do some people just not have any common sense.
