what's the name of this horror/thriller movie?

ok i was a kid and all i remember is that the killer was a ventriloquist in a smokey comedy club and at one stage a woman comes home from doing her shopping and he is standing in front of a brick wall painted the same as the wall all over and all you can see is his eyes!! loads of people i know have seen this but no one seems to remember what it's called. plaese help, thanks x

I think the other answer is correct.. I haven't watched it in years.. but it's the ONLY movie with a ventriloquist I remember actually being scary.. and I seem to recall that sceen..
