I prefer living in the country, close enough to a nice city to enjoy its qualities.

Goldenplate.

Definitely country life. I have lived in large cities, and now have made it to the boonies. Folks in the cities, are always in a state of tension, wondering if someone is going to try to hurt them, or commit a crime against them, or if the police are going to catch them speeding. Heavens, what if we are late? All that fear, plus worrying about how they look, can make a person a little unfriendly. Out here, the cows, deer and chickens don't care what kind of car I drive, or what kind of music I listen to. People out here, are always ready to drop what they are doing, and lend a hand when you need it, and we look out for each others stuff. I definitely don't miss the police helicopter at three in the morning, not to mention the sirens, and loud motorcycles. Yes, there are occasional gunshots, but it's usually a neighbor getting in a little practice, or taking care of a varmint that's after the chickens. Folks out here don't worry about guns, cause everybody has one or more. It tends to make people more respectful of one another. In the cities, most people are unarmed, and that makes everyone a potential victim, and tends to make bad people a little bolder. I got nothing against cities or the people who live in them. Heck, I even go down to one every month or so. Just can't imagine ever living in one again. Like a duck out of water. May God bless all those, who for whatever reason, live in one of those cities. If you need me, I'll be out cleaning the barn. Peace be unto you..................

Having just cleared up breakfast things and sitting for five with a cup of tea - I am working up to mucking out our two horses. Barley our yellow lab is looking up at me waiting for a crumb or two! The sun is shining and the dew is evaporating bringing that weird 'just above ground' mist - I am looking out over the orchard where the fruit is just beginning to blush (its been a very wet summer here in UK).

The air smells like its come out of a very expensive bottle - but nothing in a bottle every smelt this good!

There is rabbbit footprints in the grass and the hedgehogs have left trail marks where they have dragged their prickly bottoms across the wet lawn!

Over on the hill I can see white dots that closer to become sheep - sheared now so looking so silly! And embarrased!

So - to answer your question?

I'm a country girl to the very roots of me!

Country! I grew up in LA and San Jose. I have spent the last 20 years in smaller towns and the country - I love it! The only thing that beats walking out your door to pee is walking out your door and getting some fresh meat for dinner!

I love the simple country life but like to be near movies, theatres, stores. etc. I love the mountains and the countryside especially the scenery and the beauty not to mention the clean fresh air. I just love being with my sweetie anywhere we may go together.

I love to live the country life with a city nearby to visit and have fun in from time to time. And as long as I have my honey by my side -- living anywhere with him is just fine with me.

The city, of course. All of the fruits of civilization are found in cities. Fine food, art, film, music, the best jobs. It's also more energy efficient, and therefore less harmful to the environment, to live in cities.

Love to visit the city - but countrylife by far. So much more quiet, the people aren't in a hurry and rude...there's room to breathe lol. It's wonderful.
