Neither it's just an old wife's tail. Think about it there are people all over the world making mirror's how many get broke everyday, Luck is what you make it now that someone has broken this mirror as soon as something goes wrong you will blame the fact the mirror was broken, get him to buy you a new one, and put this rubbish behind you

None.
People might say that I am quite superstitious but....not when talking about broken mirrors.
A couple of years ago I broke a very big mirror, bedroom one,but good things happened to me.
I think it depends how you see things...
For example if you have a job interview but you don't get it what is the point blaming a lifeless mirror?
Or if you fail an exam...was a mirror taking it for you?
If you are very superstitious you will become your own enemy....blaming a broken mirror, a black cat, a ladder etc for your own failures.

The myth of bad luck comes from the belief that the soul is remade in seven years and when you break the mirror you destroy the soul in it. The image was considered as the soul.
..so who was facing the mirror?
If there was no soul -image- in it no bad luck at all!
:)

Neither if you put the pieces in running water. Bad luck can't cross running water and the 7 years bad luck won't happen.

Hi there OQ, The bottom line is that your brother broke a mirror, simple as that. It is purely superstition!!! The only negative aspect here is, that it would be your brother's responsiblity to replace it.
