so just a few minutes ago i went downstairs to see what was on tv and the little league world series was on. i never watch it because all of the psycho parents think their kids are going pro. anyways, the way they had the starting lineups announced was by having each kid say their name and position and then who there favorite player is. over the years i've heard quite a few good ones that made me laugh, but never anything as rediculous as what one kid said. he said his favorite player was HONUS WAGNER!!! what the hell? the guy played like 100 years ago! how can that be your favorite player?? you never even got to see him play. his dad probably told him to say it like the rest of the psychos...honus wagner...hahah...i turned it off after hearing that one.

OK... i must say that's rude... sometimes, i make fun of certain things in tv, but i keep it down, you know... not all people are like you, some are just less knowledgeable... so don't be rude... i think anyone with brains could understand that... it's not meant for you, i just want to say that those "more knowledgeable" should know that it's an unavoidable reality that could be just be left alone...

OMG how ridiculous is that? ALL the players should have said Honus Wagner. After all he is the greatest player ever. He was the greatest defensive SS ever and he could play every position including pitcher. He finished in the top 10 in homeruns 11 times. if he did that today he would have over 500 career homeruns to go along with his 722 career stolen bases. a career .327 hitter, honus wagner led the league multiple times in just about every conceivable stat. lets go throught the list, shall we:

batting average.- 8 times
on base percentage-4 times
slugging percentage-6 times
ops-8 times
doubles-7 times
triples-3 times
runs-2
rbi's-5 times
stolen bases 5 times
extra base hits-7 times

honus wagner could do it all, and he could do it all better than anyone that came befor or after him. Bill James (a baseball genius) said that honus' 1908 campaign is the greastest season a baseball player has ever had and i must agree with him.

That's not so strange. My 10 year old daughter also likes Honus Wagner, he's not her favorite player but he's one of her top 10 for sure. All I know is she didn't get it from me, I think it was one of her friends in school who is into baseball cards or something.

Who knows how little kids think sometimes?

Honus Wagner is a much better choice that Barroid Bonds. I saw that too! At least the kid knows his baseball history.

All the people who disagree with you are right! By the time I was 12 I'd read so much about baseball that names like Pie Trainor and Pud Galvin were so familiar to me that I thought of them as important historically as Phil Sheridan or Crazy Horse. You've forgotten what it was like to be 12 and you are entirely too cynical to be judging kids.

Kid has a real sense of history, and all you can do is mock him?

Get a life. Preferably one far from baseball.
