I have tried a few times unsucsessfully. cannot get them to germinate. do I need a specially fine compost.

Wet paper towel in a plastic zip type bag, add seeds, sunny south window. Watch for sprouts, transplant to soil. Begonia cuttings (all except tuberous b) will root in water.

Try soaking the seeds for 24 hours then planting them.
