Just interested in how you knit your socks! Do you: use dpns, one circular for one sock at a time with magic loop, two circulars for two socks at the same time, or one circular for two at the same time? I just discovered the last one on a website, and am so happy because now I'm not going to continuously get second sock syndrome!

I am on my first sock in a long time, I started from the top of the leg. Use one circular needle, (even replaced it with a smaller one when halfway the leg) using the magic loop system.
I have not dared the two socks as the same time yet, as I have to fit to see how I am doing. Not using a pattern but knitting to memory of how a sock thrown away used to fit. But my next pair will be the 2 at once system!!!
And I am going to make needles with a hook on one end and a point on the other, and use them as if it ware double pointed ones, using the hook for easy picking up the yarn.

I use dpns, but since I usually keep my sock knitting for car or carry along knitting in my purse (or pocket), I don't much mind the second sock, by the time I get to it I know the pattern stitch by heart and it's knit on autopilot. BTW, it drives people nuts if you are knitting on dpns, not looking at what you're doing and walking around at the same time. They think you're a genius, but if you choose a repetitive pattern, it becomes quite easy, especially if you can knit by touch .

It also drives people nuts trying to figure out what you're doing if you are able to knit back backwards and don't have to turn your work when knitting flat .

I'm a beginner to knitting socks, teaching myself with dpns, first two pairs were done top down, while the third pair is being done toe up on dpns. Haven't gotten to the heel yet so I'll have to take it slow to make sure I don't have to rip it out to much.

I even have by no ability knitted socks until eventually now yet have been given intrigued via the assumption recently, as they appear as if a small-ish and actual transportable venture, purely as you have mentioned. SO - I placed this e book on my Amazon want checklist and won it as a recent at Christmas: Knitting Circles around Socks. finished disclosure: I even have not yet tried this e book's technique for knitting the two socks on an analogous time utilising 2 around needles. regardless of the undeniable fact that it has alluring pictures exhibiting the technique step via step, and having examined the photos and study for the duration of the instructions, i think of it definitely looks achieveable. the better section for me is getting the two socks carried out at as quickly as! So i've got offered some attractive self-striping sock yarn and as quickly as I end one or 2 of the numerous initiatives I at the instant have going, i'll grant this methodology a whirl.
