Humor usually concerns aspects of American culture, and depends on the historical and current development of the country's culture. The extent to which an individual will personally find something humorous obviously depends on a host of absolute and relative variables, including, but not limited to geographical location, culture, maturity, level of education, and context. People of different countries will therefore find different situations funny. Just as American culture has many aspects which differ from other nations [1], these cultural differences may be a barrier to how humor translates to other countries.

there r as many as there r nationalities / ethnicities / groups/ occupations etc. humour is indeed the mirth of life. without it, our lives will stagnate. it gives us a sense of hope, enliven when down. in the western world the diff can be seen in british - dry, cynical and american humour - slapstick. watch a british / american comedy - its almost totally diff. also, in uk there r no talk shows as jay leno, late night etc. bob hope style of jokes r not available in uk. then u move to europe another brand of humor and to diff countries. even some arab countries hv their own brand - rather interesting as it intertwines with religion and the arab-israeli conflict.
go to several of these websites and u can see the diff. even the aborigines of australia/ malaysia have their own brand. cheeeeers

Basically only two types ie ability to laugh at one self and to laugh at other people, things or situations.A person who can laugh at himself is often considered to have a better or a higher sense of humor.Dry,sarcastic etc are just the categories.Differences?Only a person with a well developed sense of humor can understand it.Give it a try.
