Yep. 8th grade was especially tough, being the year of Justice. Museum of Tolerance didn't exactly help alleviate that, either.
....But, I am a lot more emotional than a lot of people, so I dunno if this'll really help you any...

No, not crushed, but I have to say that I'm alarmed because it's something which you can feel is growing stronger every day! For my whole life (I was born in 1970) I could feel and even see that this was getting better. Lately it just seems like racism is growing everywhere, like the world is starting to go crazy again!
Why is that anyway? Does anybody think the internet makes it easier for people to harbour and promote their dark feelings, to find others to support them, and make little underground groups?

The worst part is that it's not "out there." It's here, it's everywhere. Look around you. You can't legislate tolerance. It's a social matter. The only solace we have is that as society evolves, things grow more liberal. Eventually people will probably move past that barrier and judge people by their character instead of the color of their skin or their social standing.

crushed never!,worried ,well maybe.. I had hoped my daughter would escape the seemingly innate bigotry of working class england....it now seems this is not to be.
personally I stopped worrying the moment I realised that racists are either imbecilic cowards or aimless sheep yearning for attention.

Goodness, yes! It's enough to make you not want to have or raise children in this world.
The ability to classify "the other" is probably the worst instinct in human beings.
