If I carved a stone into a shape will it keep the shape if i put it in a rock tumbler?

Shapes like stars,animals etc.

Yes and No.

It depends on HOW long you tumble it and with WHAT 'grit'.

Tumbling is used to romove the 'rough' spots and 'polish' the stone. (IF you tumble it LONG enough there would be nothing left!!)

Yes it should mostly, but you have to expect sharp corners to wear off somewhat.
