Why do they always feel the need to announce that "im only 13, but im mature for my age" ?

No. If you have to announce that, then your not mature for your age.

Because they're teenage girls! lol

Every age I have ever been, I've always at least "thought" I knew alot or was really mature, then 5 years down the road I realize I was just a spring chicken! LOL!

I thought when I got married at 21 I was SO mature...now, years later...I realize how YOUNG we were!

Well because 13 is a young age and the surroundings in life paint a picture for the eye to want to be mature and desired..and simply by age one says arent you young to be asking that or online at this time what ever it may be..i think it mostly has to do with the fact that everyone on tv and etc makes you want to be older because they think they are free of all worries and everything will be just like in the movies.

I am 13.
I even get irritated by that, because I will admit that I don't know everything. I really don't like you saying this though, it does kind of hurt my feelings, because not all 13 year olds say this. I know I don't, my parents have taught me to know that I am still a child and I don't ever really want to grow up and have to deal with what my parents deal with everyday, but we all have to grow up and being a teenager is just a stepping stone and we have very far to go, before we mature.

I'm 17. People tell me I am mature. I think I am also.

Some 13year olds are mature. Your maturity is proven by your actions. Most 13years olds would say they are mature but then go and contradict that every Saturday night!

I'm 13 and I don't say that. And the only 13 year olds who say that are most likely wanting to get laid and become a mother too soon.

They just feel like that b/c dey may b able to handle things better then others...but they can be wise for the age. What I mean by thta is the they may look onto stuff diff. and think it through better then others.

I know, it's so stupid. All they're doing is proving that they're immature. I'm 13, and I've never said that. It makes them sound like idiots. Not all of them though, most people I know wouldn't say that.

Because 13 year old girls like to get hit on by everyone, even older boys and skeevy older men.
