First it connects to density, most boats are made of wood.

second, it's related to "If it's hollow", you see, many ships are made of steel, but they're hollow, compared to the same volume of wood, it's much lighter, so they float.

Coin is hard core metal

It has to do with the shape and the surface area of the boat.

The shape allows for a large surface area that distributes the gravitional forces over a large area. The buoyant forces from the water push up from below, causing the boat to stay afloat.

This is not the case with a coin. - but you can make a paper clip float if you lay it gently down in the right way (uses the surface tension of the water like the water bugs).

An object will float if its density (specific gravity)is below that of water.
A boat will float because most of the inside is air and therefore the whole thing is lighter than the water it displaces.
A coin is solid metal which is heavier than the water it displaces.

A boat floats because it displaces water equal to its weight. Boats are hollow, so displace a lot of water. Your penny sinks in the bathtub because it displaces no more water than the actual volume of metal -- it isn't hollow.

when more water is displaced by the ship then the upward thurst of the water is more so it floats but when the coin displaces only little water so the upward thrust is not enough to hold the weight

It has to do with "displacement." But I cannot explain that anymore. Go ask this in physics. Snowflake is an excellent person to get to answer your question.

For something to float,it has to displace it's weight in water. The shape of the hull does this.
