Hate is the wrong word, okay there might be a few thousand mothers who just got their kids killed.....but I don't think the USA is hated in the world.
As for me, I have just too many American friends, which are the greatest people I know ! So I refuse to damn a Country just because they have a Laughing Stock as President!
It is the recent President, his Clan and Neocons ( which are close to the European fascists 60 years ago ) I disrespect them ! Only them !
Anyway I have no space for hate in my heart ;-)

This is a really hard question to answer, because "hating" is so very personal to people, and they may hate some vague ideas (big bully country, military-industrial complex, globalization, moral decadence, and such) that they associate with the United States, but if they meet a reasonable person from the U.S., they can change their minds.
I've often read that Europeans "hate" Americans, but I travel in Europe a lot, and get along with everyone. O.K., some people have problems with some U.S. policies, but so do lots of people here, right?
Humans seem to have a genetic need to make themselves feel good about their own ideas by hating those whose ideas are different. I sometimes think this explains every war that has ever happened. At the same time, we are able to like people we know personally, once we get past the abstract ideas.
There probably are real people who hate real Americans for real reasons, but I bet it's not a large percentage of the world.

Beware of simplifications! Most of the world does not hate the United States, on the contrary, it is much admired even if some of the culture and way of life is regarded as odd. What is hated is the present administration and the policies it follows. Iraq apart, Bush and his cronies have done just about everything possible in terms of foreign policies and international relations to alienate old friends, allies and neighbours.

Currently much of the world is disappointed in US policy and the Bush Junta's official attitude. Fortunately most people know that our electoral error is self correcting. Bush and his goofy policies and politics will be gone eventually. The world expects the US to lead, but to lead well and honestly. Frankly this country has never been perfect, but this administration is definately the bottom of the barrel. America has tried divisive politics and right wing foolishness and has toyed with imperial designes and it's failed...that kind of action just isn't us....we're better than that and I think the world knows it....people are just waiting for us to get back on track.

Russia, France and Germany hate us because we ended their little scheme of trading food and arms to Saddam during the embargo. They made lots and lots of cash.
But now France have a pro Bush, pro American leader. They were picnicking just yesterday. The world sees America as a great leader and protector.
Except for the dictators-Iran, N. Korea, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba.

Most of it!
PEW poll
However, opinions of the American people have declined over the past five years in 23 of 33 countries where trends are available. In Indonesia and Turkey, where favorable views of the U.S. have declined markedly over the past five years, opinions of Americans have fallen sharply as well. In Indonesia, positive opinions of Americans have fallen from 65% in 2002 to 42%; in Turkey, favorable opinions have declined 19 points.
While opinions of Americans have fallen in most Western European countries, they remain generally positive. In every Western European country surveyed, far more people express positive opinions of Americans than they do of the U.S.; in Germany, for instance, 63% say they have a positive opinion of Americans compared with just 30% who rate the U.S. positively.
However you need to understand, countries like France, Germany, Great Britain and Canada have a much higher opinion of Vladimir Putin!
George Bush has a world-wide unfavorable rating!

I just checked the "Who Hates The United States-Ometer."
It's up to 45%. But it fluctuates.
How can anyone answer this question with any sense of reality?

most, not all. but if we continue this act, they would never like us. and that's not good. we are good people and we need to show the world who we really are, not a country that goes into pointless wars, and wants to go into other wars for no reasons.

Not as much as America thinks. Chill out and show us some more of that old happy go lucky American attitude. It would be a nice change.
