If terrorists took out the Golden-Gate bridge or welded the crack in the Liberty Bell or bombed the Elks Club in KC... what damage could they create in U.S. society that would be greater than the internal chaos thats in America right now?

Stoney, agreed... but it would have to be extremely catastrophic! Could happen, but very unlikely right now.

No -- Bush has done far more damage to this country than terrorists ever could have....

Terrorists could only kill people and destroy buildings.

They could not trample on our constitution, could not destroy our balance of powers between branches, and could not turn America so rabidly fanatically divided as we have become.

Bush did to us -- and we did to ourselves -- what the terrorists could never do -- make us afraid.... so afraid that we abandoned everything we ever stood for.

Pretty cute question. Equating a terrorist attack with patching the crack on the Liberty Bell or bombing an Elks club. Maybe a tiny suitcase nuke up your keester wouldn't qualify to you but I would think to thousands of dead people, it would've mattered alot.

Does you hatred of Bush go so far as to suggest a terrorist attack wouldn't be as bad as President Bush? Get some humanity and lose some hatred.

I understand your point, but let's not get too lackadaisical where the terrorists are concerned. If they were to blow up the Hoover Dam or target some of our nuclear facilities we could be in far worse shape than we are now.

What makes you think there haven't been more attacks?

The DC snipers were radical Muslims, by their own admission killing as a form of jihad against the US.

Well developed plots to murder soldiers at Fort Dix, and blow up the fuel lines at JFK, have been thwarted more by luck than anything else.

There have been at least two separate shooting rampages by radical Muslims, killing over 15 people total.

A radical Muslim ran his vehicle into a crowd of students with the explicit intent to kill as many as possible.

Muslims have been stopped driving to a college campus with numerous pipe bombs.

Muslims have been caught planting land mines near school bus routes in Ontario.

One would think that a President intent on taking power by frightening people would be playing up these events rather than trying to cover them up. It would seem that the greatest danger is a certain intellectual community intent on demonizing our own leadership to weaken our ability to respond to the real threat...

I think they could do a lot of damge and wouldn't minimize that, but he has done a lot of damage and will countinue to do so. the things that he has done will not be fixed for a very long time.

In the short term they would kill thousands of people. In the long term... well that remains to be seen, but if they did it would only allow Bush or someone else like him to go forth with even more extreme facist measures using this second attack as proof of the terrorist threat

"Common Sense" (above) lacks all that he's named himself after, living in the blackened cocoon of blindness he's built around him.

"Internal chaos"? Please explain. And Bush hasn't hurt the country at all. If you're talking about the divide between the ignorant, hate-filled left and the intelligent, logical right, then I would have to say that its the liberals who have become completely unhinged because of their hatred for our President and are the ones causing the rift.

Edit- Aquanetta, would you care to elaborate with anything substantial and not just a hate-filled rant?
