Go to the city attorney's office and ask for guidance. If you're in a large city, I'd bet there's a help desk of some sort.

I'm not sure, but I'd also guess there are papers you can file on your own to start the divorce process. Some where along the way, you'll have to put an ad in the local paper declaring your intent to divorce your husband since you can't find him.

Good luck to you and God Bless.

Depending on how long he's been gone, you could have him declared legally dead. You may also be able to get him on desertion charges. Call your local newspaper or TV station and ask the consumer aid person there if they know of any free or low cost legal agencies. This might be a stretch but might be worth a try. Call one of the credit agencies like TRW, give them his Soc. Sec. number and middle name & see if you can get a credit report on him, that should either give you an address or at least an idea of where he's living. If you haven't already done it, ask his friends and relatives. Good luck with your search.

DIY divorce is cheap and easy.
Go to the courthouse or online and get the forms you need.
Have them served to the last known address--either personal or work.
In 30 days, no response, proceed to the courthouse and file.
It's uncontested at that point and the judge will award you pretty much everything you've asked for.
Then you're done.

The answer before is good about the do-it-yourself kit. BUT I would visit the courthouse first to find out how you have to do this. They can assist you in filing the paperwork and let you know about the ad in the newspaper. (that is all it takes in my state) There is very little cost involved with abandonment or if you can't find your husband. Good luck.

My in-law got a do-it yourself divorce packet (I am serious). You can buy them online, legal document store (bigger cities have these), or even Barnes & Noble sells them. They filed divorce papers that way, but there were no kids involved and very little property. You also should file for abandonment. It is only three days they are gone in my state. After you file for abandonment, you could file for divorce soley. It will probably be easier now that he is gone.

Do some work and make money. When you have enough money then you can file your case into the court. I know its tough situation for you, But who will help moneywise to you??? If we have born alone that means we need to survive alone, Do not depend on someone. I am also same here. But I do love my wife and she loves me as well. Because of money I am not with her.

go to your local newspaper, and there you can take out an ad (im not sure what it is called) but anyways they can put it in there that you are looking for him and he will have only so long to repond, and if after that period of time, you dont get any response you can file for your divorce, and the courts will grant it to you

Use the abandonment case. Not many people are going to take your case without money.

Go to the courthouse and see if someone will take your case ProBono.
