That's scary. Whats even scarier is that all of our politicians support this (democrat and republican), even though most Americans don't. That's why I'm voting for Ron Paul, the ONLY candidate to be against this tripe.

None of the North American countries would have to dissolve to have a North American Union. Look at the proposed European Union constitution. It took away most of the sovereignty of the member countries while leaving them intact. They have already lost a surprising amount under existing treaties, with one unified currency and open borders. The same thing could be implemented gradually over a decade here with many individual treaties, so by the time it is complete it would be too late to stop.

You do realize, don't you, that the NAU as people refer to it cannot happen unless either (1) the US dissolves, or (2) Mexico and Canada both dissolve and joins the US.....

Unless one of those happens, the most you're going to get are treaties between the three countries -- and we've already got that.
