You're not getting a period, you're getting withdrawl building. You can ABSOLUTELY get pregnant anytime you miss a pill and your chances go up substantially when it's more than one in one month. Every time you miss a pill, especially if it's a long enough delay to cause bleeding, your hormone levels get all screwed up and your body may ovulate unexpectedly. Either find a way to remember to take it every day or use another method of birth control. The way you're using it now isn't going to work.

You need to remember to take them every day at the same time each day. Set your watch, your cell phone calendar (for everyday at the same time each day, I do this so I don't forget).

You can get pregnant even if you take the pill as prescribed, so yes if you missed pills and had unprotected sex you can get pregnant.

I have Kariva, so if I miss pills, I just read my pamphlet and do as it says: If you miss two doses (days) in a row, take 2 tablets for the next 2 days, then, continue with your regular schedule. Whenever 1 or 2 doses are missed, you should use a second method of contraception for the next 7 days in addition to taking the pills. If you miss three doses in a row, you should notify your physician or other health care professional for instructions. You will probably need to throw away the rest of the tablets in that cycle pack and start over.

your little "periods" are called spotting and thats normal if you miss a pill. If you miss a pill and have unprotected sex, your basically screwed. If you miss two pills in a row then you're supposed to throw the whole pack out and start a new one b/c it doesn't work the same way. If you missed 5 then you better pray that you're not pregnant. Why are you having unprotected sex anyways? hello!! ever heard of STDs! Birth control pills don't protect from that.
