Given that it's a daily occurrence -- and going back decades -- not much choice....
People don't seem to have any interest in fixing the govt -- or even having the govt obey its own laws -- as long as they don't notice how cramped things have gotten.
I've pretty much written off the country as unsalvageable, because neither the politicians nor enough of the citizenry care to fix the problems. But I could be wrong -- people might decide someday to wake up and smell the fascism.

I think it really depends on what the lie is.
If it is intentional and misleading and possibly a danger to the American people or for personal profiteering then no we should challenge them on it.
If it was an honest mistake then you could still cause it a lie but no one is perfect.
What I do think people should get past is I am positive that Bush did not "Lie" about Weapons of Mass destruction. I was statiooned overseas from 2000 to 2004 and Up until 2003 everyone in the Med/Gulf region genuinely believed that Saddam Hussien was stocking WMDs and possibly going to provide them to terrorist.
Whether he did or not is not the question the question was the intell and up to that point Saddam Hussien DID use WMDs on his own people. So why wouldn't he use them on his sworn enemy, the US?

NO. I believe that they should be made accountable. If an election promise is made then that should be a basic contract that the elected person has made to all of the people that voted for them. Therefore if it is not done then they have reneged. Then they should be made to resign. Maybe that way we would get politicians that are more honest about what they think they can deliver in the first place.

No, because almost all elected leaders lie. When they lie and it hurts or harms your country or the people in it you have to hold them accountable or they'll just keep doing it until so much damage is done that it can never be fixed

Why do libs think Clinton only lied once? How do libs think Clinton got so good at lying that he was able to look America in the eye and tell everyone he did not cheat on his wife so convincingly without a lot of practice?
