It depends on where you're trying to get to. Either way be sure to use a saddle. Riding bare can potentially cause itching, chaffing, and soreness.

You're probly not saving the horse, he can handle it. Ride a cowboy, he wont last more than a half hour. At cowboy speed, that doesn't get you far.
