If there is a subpoena for DNA in the works and he is the father, it is very likely that the information can not be shielded (he could even potentialy challenge custody). If he wants in on the kids and he is the kids father, better bust his nuts for child support if he REALLY wants to find out.

As stated, if he claims paternity, and it is proven, then he will have legal rights to the children. And, yes, he will be liable for child support.

Concerning the above answer about never having his fatherhood challenged. If two people are married at the tim of birth, even if the husband is not the father, by law he is the presumed father. Because of that, paternity does not need to be proven. By your question, it would seem you two were not married.

Since there is no record of the father of your children. No person is allowed to gain information from them due to right of privacy. However, you can be forced to give out information if there is a court order when their father proved his paternity through DNA.

Yes, he can. And so can anyone else. I've never been asked to prove that I am my children's father for medical reasons, to pick them up at school, or anything else. My wife and I live together, so there is nothing to preclude me, but like I said, I've never been asked to prove anything.
