A valid contract really needs no dates at all. Dates just serve to remove any doubt in a judge's mind. As long as both parties understand that Tuesday means this coming Tuesday, the date isn't necessary. Seldom are contracts that obvious, so dates serve to narrow down which Tuesday you're talking about. What the contract is for usually narrows down the year to the current one, so 2007 isn't necessary to make it valid.

Ambiguity is the key to enforcing a contract. Anything that is ambiguous is the fault of the person who wrote the contract and they will suffer for it. Parts of a contract which are not spelled out in detail go in favor of the person who didn't write the contract.

The only date you need for the contract to be valid is the date signed.
If you wish to specify a schedule, may I suggest that you use something like Starting date, (Day 1), is to be....... then you can refer to day 2 ,3 ,4, etc.
That makes it a lot easier to change, (as most construction contracts do).

Assuming the "x xxxx" are not other dates or numbers -- such as being an itemized list of work... should be fine.

Put the month on there, and you can just say "All dates listed are for August 2007" and then just list each day .

The important point is that it is clear and unambiguous what you are agreeing to.

The only date on contracts I have signed is the date of signature.

I have seen this type of contract.

The type of contract must be different.

Are you contracting to have a deadline a day?

More info needed.
