The instructions say not to plant them in the gravel. Most of them are floating on the top. What the heck?

I got those before and I planted them PARTIALLY in the gravel. I stuck gravel around it on the sides but made sure the top was not covered. That thing took off like crazy and had to be removed from the 2 gallon tank I had it in and put into my 65 gallon tank! (only one bulb ever grew, though).

Let me get this right you know the general name of the plant. Well the only thing I can think that would help you is if they give the scientific name for it then that will make your research a lot easier. Then all you will have to do is type that name in and you should get information specifically about that plant.

Add more gravel and plant them a lot more deeper. You shouldn't be able to see the bulb when you plant it.

hehe, this IS wal-mart, u can return it. Usually any of those plant things end up floating to the top. Besides, the new stuff for ur fish, ( or wutevers in there ) may be sumwhat of n environmental change for them, i've dun that before and my fish ended up dying. I'm not tryin 2 scare u tho. Just tryin to give advice, cuz it doesnt look like any1 has even glanced at this question.

tie a piece of dental floss loosely around the base of the bulb, and then tie the other end to a larger pebble or piece of decor in the aquarium. Hopefully that will work until it sprouts and then it will "dig" in on it's own...
Good luck, I feel your frustration....

It takes time for them to soak enough water to sink to the bottom, but If they don't sink to the bottom after 3 weeks, they're worthles

one of mine started to grow, the other one I had to take out

Hope that helps
Good luck
