The Germans have a bad history of occupying other nations and so they are extremely sensitive on these subjects. They are kind of supportive but they don't want to be seen as putting the jackboot in, unlike the Americans who revel in it.
Also the Germans have a lot of cynicism about the American hysteria over "terror". If this worries Bush, or whoever is pulling his strings, he should set up a "terror attack" in Germany like he has done in so many other places (including his own country).

As a member state of NATO they voted to invoke Article Six of the Atlantic Charter after the attack on the U.S. of September 11, 2001. That article says that an attack on one member state of NATO is an attack on all. It was the first time in the history of the NATO alliance that Articvle Six had been invoked. Germany has troops in Afghanistan as part of the coaltion forces. Vessels of the German Navy also operate with Task Force 151 in the Arabian Sea to interdict terrorists attempting seaborne movement between countries.
The German Intelligence Services and the various police departments in Germany also work with our intelligence services in the job of ferreting out Salafist Jihadists hiding in their country. You must remember that several of those who carried out the attack of September 11, 2001 had lived on the same block in the Harburg section of Hamburg and had attended school in Hamburg.
Germany has also complied with the UN Resolution passed under Chapter Seven (Peace Enforcement) of the UN Charter to stop or seize the financial assets of terrorist groups and prevent the movement of these funds across national borders.

Germany's the last of Taliban/Al-Quaeda's fears right now; they f*cked with Korea---and are about to realize their mistake doing that.
Germany does NOT support the Taliban and/or Al-Quaeda.
And we'll leave matters w/ that for now.
