Hello, I live in the Dominican Republic, the people here are very snoby, I am an American I wear a long sleeve shirt everyday to work with jeans. Lately I have been getting really good clients to work with me, like international type. I usually go to the meetings dressed like I do every day. My father asked me to stop wearing those clothes since I have¨^represent^. I keep telling him that my clients looked for me not the other way around and they trust me completly. and that for an artist I dress pretty decent. I do know.. maybe I do need to change my style... but what should I go for....

I am 25 years old female, 5´10 chubby, short dark hair and light brown eyes.
what do you think.. help me out here.

Try getting some kakies, or colored pants. Get a couple of denim and plain skirts. Find some fun, but basic designs too. Get some henlys and button down stuff too. Mix it up a little, but not too much to where you are uncomfortable.

Can you tell me how you got a job after collage with a degree in graphic design and if their is a need for it in the US, I want to major in this but am not sure if I can get a job afterwards. Please e-mail me at mallory_sutton@yahoo.com

IF you want to look professional and get more respect the rule for women is to wear a nice skirt or skirt suit (I would recommend the skirt suit) with pantyhose and nice closed toed shoes. (I sell Mary Kay and every meeting we have we are required to wear that outfit). Women get more respect if they look professional. A skirt suit shows that you are serious about business. Don't think of how you dress as if your an artist, think whats going to get you more business and money! But another rule only wear skirts that are just above the knee or slightly below. Too short will have people thinking other things about you! Imagine in your head who you would rather do business with someone who is dressed in jeans and long sleeve shirt, or someone who has taken the time to get a nice dress suit and good shoes. Also get your nails done. Or keep them nicely polished! Good luck with your new style!

1] get some washable suit separates - jacket, slacks, and skirts if you want. Buy either navy, gray, and black; or caramel, olive, and coffee brown, depending on what flatters you. Get dress shoes, flat or heeled, that match.
2] buy a bunch or fitted Ts [ ladies ] in all the brights and pastels you like, with different sleeve length and necklines. Use for everyday work, with a suit jacket. [ Or leather, or velvet in more 'fun' colors! ]
3] collect washable blouses in feminine styles - in light versions of your neutrals [ white or ivory, pale gray or pale gold, pale blue or pale green - not lacy, ruffly, or bowed.]
4] invest in a smart leather portfolio for trips out of the office.
May want to carry a small shoulderbag since the 'folios are so clumsy.
STYLES:
a] tops should end at top hipbone or wrist, for best flattery
b] buy tops that are fitted, not tight or loose
c] no big lapels for tops or jackets or coats
d] skirts can be Aline, loose pencil skirt
e] pants - no pleats, cuffs OK because you are tall, straight leg or boot cut [ no tapered! ]
f] no dresses with very full skirts, or tight satin dresses

try black and/or khaki pants, they will look more professional than jeans, also collared shirts like polos and button up dress shirts should work and are still comfy
