I'm going into eighth grade this school year and I missed tryouts. So I figured that I would wait until high school. I've been doing tumbling for awhile and can do splits and stuff like that, but I have absolultely no knowledge of cheerleading. Think I could make it? If so, any tips?

Keep up with the tumbling. In the meantime you can study up on cheer technique here: http://geocities.com/aescougarcheer/basics.htm

Hate to assert yet while your dad won't assist you, i wish that your mom will. i'm a center college cheerleading coach and cheerleading isn't low priced. of direction middle schoolers have not got jobs to pay for camp, uniforms, etc. and in spite of in case you may desire to get a job, you will not have time to paintings and bypass to after college practices, conferences, and video games.... and do not forget assignments. you will choose somebody to help you pay the expenses. Is your cheerleading squad classic or interest? a common squad is the squad that does the pep rally, cheers at video games from the sidelines, and might do a a million/2 time overall performance. A interest squad is a squad that travels around the country competing. an excellent sort of the sport squads are co-ed, enormously experienced, particularly confusing stunts, killer flips, you get the element. Its like the carry it On Squads. if your college has a common squad, all you're able to do is have some sort of rhythm and get a former cheerleader or one that has already made the squad to instruct you. you may desire to bypass to a UCA camp. they'll coach you the basics of cheerleading. i think of this could be correct. if your squad is a interest squad, your opportunities of transforming into the squad are very narrow till you have had years of gymnastics. in spite of happens, I wish you the suitable of success. save attempting and paintings not basic. bear in mind Cheerleading isn't basic paintings, if it grew to become into any much less complicated, it would be observed as soccer!

i have been cheering since i was 7 and im 16 now...

i would just stay in tumbling and stretch alot at home. make sure you take the tips from your coaches because they really will help if you think about it.

at tryouts make sure you are really really confident. if you are shy and seem insecure they probably wont put you on the team. smile alot and make eye contact with the judges. when you do your motions make your arms really tight. and no bent wrist or bent arms. that makes them look bad.

thats all i have for you right now but if you have any more questions email me at kels@9528@yahoo.com
