say anything you want, obviously reducing a lead from 14.5 to 5 games in a month, thats something you should think about. yankees DO have pitching to get through, in case you didnt notice- wang, and hughes are awesome.
pettite, and moose is getting a lot better, clemens is on and off

IAKNY -- in case you didnt know, yankees bullpen didnt let up no runs at all for the last 2 games, theyve been doing wayy better than the red sox bullpen right now

also if you went to the mlb.com sortable team stats, yankees are basically in 1st place for every category

The Yankees haters don't have any more excuses. The Yankees played some easy teams, but they still have to go out and play and win. Even Boston fans who whine about the Yankee schedule should stop and think that the Red Sox play Tampa Bay, Toronto, Baltimore, etc, over the course of the season, and the Red Sox played those teams many more times in the first half than the Yankees did, which is why the Yankees are playing them so often now.

And for the gentleman who wants us to admit that the Red Sox are good, sorry, can't do it. They are decent, but their offense really isn't scaring anyone these days. Manny is on the decline at age 35, Ortiz is hitting for far less power this season. Varitek is past his prime as a hitter, and Drew and Lugo have been busts for the most part this season. It will be fun to see Hughes and Chamberlain blow those guys away when the two teams meet later this month. The Red Sox added Eric Gagne who is not the pitcher he used to be, the Yankees got rid of Kei Igawa and Scott Proctor and replaced them with two 21-year old fireballers. Let the Yankee haters make excuses, it only comes from fear.

And for the overzealous Met fan below me, the Yankees have a better record than do the Mets;)

just wondering : are u an idiot? u r still wondering and trying to figure out what is going on. Yankees bullpen gave away 3 runs in the last 2 games against the best team in the central division.

Red Sox Bullpen faultered yesterday. u were all so happy to have Eric Gagne, only to see him pitching 4 innings with an ERA of 16?? Oh and remember last august when the Sox choked? seems like its gonna happen again!

EDIT: its funny that Alina Girl is even talking, after her Mets got killed by the Marlins , 3 straight games! LMAO @ Mets!

Go Yanks!

Like someone above pointed out, all teams go on losing streaks, but the Yankees already went through that, and they arent going to go through it again. The worst possible time for Boston to be playing badly is now and from now on, and they've done it. The Yankees are hot right now. Whoever said that they don't have the pitching is certainly wrong. The Yanks got two unbelievable rookies (Chamberlain and Hughes) that are doing so much for the Yankees. Their hitting is unstoppable. A-Rod hit two home runs! It does not seem likely that they wil collapse anytime soon.

Dude there are over 160 games played in the MLB calm down. Go ahead feel good about the yanks throw a party i really don't care. How can you say anything negative about the sox be a real baseball fan and admit that they are doing good. As i will be and i will admit they have made a good comeback but seriously calm down a bit.

you obviously have NO idea what your talking about. The red sox can't win EVERY game buddy - good teams go through losing streaks too. Secondly, the Yankees DEFINATELY DO NOT have the pitching to go anywhere this season. Yea, so they're on a little tear right now... that wont last much longer. We'll see what happens with the next 2 Sox/Yanks series.

I just don't like the Yankees. Is there a problem with that? I don't think there is.

The Red Sox are doing fine, the Yanks are known to choke, so they're catching up? Who cares, Sox are taking the division, so quit trying to rile everyone up and calm down. Everyone knows the yanks are going to lose.

Sorry to burst your bubble. The Yankees are going nowhere (and this from someone who rooted for them through the Horace Clarke years - when Fritz Petersen and Mike Kekich traded families, for pity's sake). Even then I had hope, because the other teams were just as pitiful. Now rooting for the Yankees is a corporate exercise. Expect the Yankees to fade when they play Baltimore and Boston again (though its still 82 years until the next RedSux Series win). Torre is done.
He'll exhaust Joba Chamberlain like he did Scott Proctor.
