There's an old e-mail circulating about sharing your GPA.
The fact of the matter is that human nature is the most gain with the least effort. That's why communism always fails.
People, if given the chance, will take a free ride.
My father hired a homeless man, hoping to do him a favor.
A year later, the (formerly) homeless man quit, and came with a gun, saying that my dad had ruined his life by giving him bills and responsibility, when before life had been easy.
Of course my dad walked up slowly and knocked the guy's lights out with a quick punch, but that's another point entirely....
The point is, that's an example of pandemic laziness, and the willingness to have everyone bear your burdens but yourself.

I know what you mean. I go to school in an area where almost everyone is rich, unfortunatly, I am not one of those people and I have to work hard for everything I have. They get so angry when they don't get what they want and I'm thinking Wow, if I had that I would be so happy, but they are never satisfied with what they have which I find very sad. I'm actually glad that I have to work for everything because I can appreciate my success so much more while everyone else is happy for the moment that someone else did their work once again.

Honestly, most of these people aren't to blame, for they're only doing things how they were raised to do them. If you insist on laying blame on someone though, it should be on the parents.
If children are brought up respecting money and are taught early the meaning of making an honest living, they will grow to be hard workers. If they are spoiled and things are just given to them left and right, well, that is how they will turn out later in life.

and their parents before them. Somewhere it will stop as one set of parents was just making up for the fact that they had nothing when growing up

Because in this culture things are handed to people for doing nothing while other people break their backs for morsels. Deal with it.

I think it might stem from the way they were raised. Alot of people were handed everything they wanted from their parents so they feel the rest of the world should treat them the same way.

It's the mindset of many people nowadays. Mainly, though not always the young.
Things are too easy for them - they've had it too easy for too long. Not having to work hard like their parents - or grandparents had to.
While we have such hand-out welfare systems & looney-left welfare groups in our society nothing will change.

my niece went to USC and had a roommate, the roommate ate and cooked but didn't do her dishes, which now brought roaches into the dorm.so everyone started to put her dirty dishes under her bed..she was a spoiled brat and her mother did everything, and i guess she thought her mother was with her in collage..Thank God she moved out..she was out numbered.

it's not just college students. people on welfare get handed a check every month from the government for doing absolutely nothing except having more retarded children and cooking meth in their kitchen.
