You have it wrong on two counts.
First it is not just Christians, it is anyone opposing their narrow minded views.
Second they are not just the left-wing radicals it is most of the Democrat party, anyone on the left.

I agree with you in the guise of "political correctness" Christians are being repressed, falsely represented by those huge crazy christians who do not support feeding the poor, the destitude, the orphaned all the people Christ came to bring the Good News. I call them pharasies and you can identify them by the fruit they don't produce and what they truly worship "Wealth" gathering it, investing it, saving it, dreaming up ways to get more etc.
As for radical LEFT WING. This country was practically founded on Union Busting. Take a look at the polical landscape. Everything left of centre is dead. However the majority of us the people are much more left. We believe in our freedom of religion. We have no problem if some one else wants to display Budha, star of David, koran, we just hate being told WE are offending some vague atheists or something as we would not like our Lord to think we are ashamed of Him, besides I as You have the right of freedom of religion unless inbetween constantly doing to other nations what we ourselves would not want done to us. Bush and Cheney signed more executive orders stripping us of that right.
Seeing how they must have not much to do with the economy doing so well, educational standards have never been higher or more equally ditributed. All the Katrina victims are home a little traumatized, but by golly the president really rallied the county and got those poor souls homes built, and with the new work on the levi's based along what the Dutch have done business will be flowing into the big easy for the next 50 years, the spill over should economic boom for the all of the south on a scale it's never experienced before.
But alas left thinkers need not apply to even live in D.C. so we shall be forever quagmired in wars for oil companies that pay big time right wing lobbiest to make sure new exciting solar engery technologies can not be developed. Millions must die for the likes of Exxon Mobile, Chevron, Halibuton and all their freinds in the crony capitalism world of defence. Pray for your enemy's they are not on the left. American's have never seen radical left..Mary.

I am so tired of listening to the whining by the "non-liberals" about how their religious beliefs and traditions are being destroyed. Would you people please get a grip on reality?? The USA does not have a single religious interest. There are Christians, Jews, Islamist, Buddhist, etc....and the Christian faith is not consolidated into one belief..there are Lutherans, Church of Christ, Baptist, Southern Baptist, Mormons, Catholics, Methodist - all who believe in Jesus Christ but still have differences in doctrine and belief. No where is it written into law that you cannot say "Merry Christmas" just as it is not written that you cannot pray in school. You can pray anywhere and anytime you want to...you just cannot deem one religion as preferential over another and so unless you are ready to recognize each religion at a school function then leave it alone! For those who claim to be Christians, you should go to your Bible and reference what response was given by Jesus himself when asked how to pray. You might be surprised at what answer you find..because Jesus tells you straight up that you are to go into a closet or a private place to pray and not to pray PUBLICLY as the pharisees and scribes (you know, those religious RULERS who were so righteous and threatened by the Son of God that they conspired to put him to death??) of that period.
Secondly...what does a Christmas tree have to do with the birth of Christ???? I don't believe that there was a decorated tree in the Manger with Mary and Joseph. The commercialization of Christmas had long since destroyed the real meaning of the celebration. You can start buying Christmas decorations and you will find the stores displaying Christmas trees before Halloween...none of which has anything to do with the real meaning of Christmas. But this is a capitalist country remember and there is nothing wrong with making a few dollars off of a religious belief is there?

You know, I thought freedom of religion is in the Constitution. Do you know that the 10 commandments are etched in stone in the United States government buildings, including the Supreme Court? The very body that has said that is it unlawful to post or display the 10 commandments on government facilities, like courthouses? How hypocritical!!!
Everyone in the USA has the right to do what they wish, to be what they wish. This includes the left. If the left were to stop screaming their rhetoric, and start thinking about what they are screaming......
For goodness sakes! You don't like it, don't look at it! You don't like the 10 commandments, walk through another door of the courthouse. You don't like church on TV? There are hundreds of other channels available! I mean, the Bible-belt midwest is a bit harder to avoid, but then those people don't care, they LIKE the Bible and what it stands for.
I am one of the least religious people I know, but I won't tell someone else they can't believe in God. That's their perogative. If it makes them nicer, think more clearly, makes them care about others more, then it is a good thing.
Profanity, nudity, violence, none of these things promote good positive family values, those things that were so strong just a few decades ago.
Do you know that Mary Ann (Gilligan's Island) was only allowed to show her naval a limited amount of times on the show? They thought it was too risque to show a belly button.. Then, CHER!! Shame on CHER!!! She wore those hip-huggers and those low-cut tops.. How dare her!!! She was the beginning of the end of decency in America! (this is sarcasm for those who can't tell)...
Today they show pregnant children on television, as an acceptable thing... YEAH That's teaching em' good thinking... Little girls want to be mommies instead of wanting to be little girls.... What a mixed up world the Left has told us to create. What a mixed up thing is it when pregnant 14 year olds are OK on mainstream television, but the very mention of the word "God" in our pledge of allegiance is akin to heresy.
oh yeah, on a sidebar... I love the Harry Potter series. It is good literature, with a strong foundation. Even the religious right needs to catch on to the message, and not the plot.

Having read some of the previous 19 answers I am astounded at the ignorance.
The uneducated OPINIONS that have been shown.
But I am not surprised due to the fact that the new technologies in our world today have taken the place of reality and gone to fantasy and futuristic games that occupy the daily game.
But in a sense I cannot totally blame them for their ignorance the way the world is so engrossed in hatred and wars that give license to ignore reality.

There are millions more pornographic images than Christmas trees already. You're talking religion -- one religion at that -- in public places. You want a tree on your own property, enjoy it. You want to read Harry Potter, go to it. You want to say Merry Christmas, say it. But not to me . And not on public property owned by us all.

In business, there is an expression--"what the market will bear"--meaning that anything can be done as long as there is a customer willing to pay the price. The same thing is true about religion. Until there is a mass uprising (metaphorically speaking), we will continue to be left out.

The left wingnuts don't have a problem with censorship at all, as long they are the ones doing the censoring. Try to be a conservative speaker on a college campus these days. It's called a double standard, and they live for them.

Of course you are right...and they try, but we have to fight back....not sit back and allow it to occur. Some of this is out of ignorance because they think "separation of church and state" means what they are doing. It does not....and in the Constitution was never intended to protect everyone "from" religion". It was to protect us from a government religion being forced on us.
And some of it is "used" by the ACLU and others to attack any kind of religion....it frightens them because they know that people who believe in God, will not accept their agendas....it is that belief that has aided our country for so many years....and to destroy America, you have to tear down every value we have....freedom of religion and our trust in God is the major one...and why everyone who hates it, is constantly working to eliminate it everywhere.
Even Romney, running for President is right. Why are you attacking my beliefs he has said.....yes Why? I don't agree with him, but I respect his right to his own religious freedom, President or not.
We need to stand as a people....then they will back down. There is still power in the people standing together. Too often we don't...and it really matters!

OMG, all the liberals I know say merry Christmas, even the liberal Jews I know. No liberal is trying to censor religion. And, most the liberals I know are Christian. This is ridiculous. Why do you whine about such nonsense non issues when it comes to Christianity and issues of Christmas phrases? Don't you think that you're being a bit superficial and ridiculous? I mean come on, you act like this is a real issue. The people insisting on saying Happy Holidays are the commercial interests such as Walmart and the mall. It's to lure in more customers from all faiths during that time of season. Why would you really want to link your faith with consumerism so much?
BTW, I know a lot of Jewish people who get Christmas trees. And, as I recall NYC puts up a huge Christmas tree every year. You can't get more liberal than NYC.

Has all of us fairly ever stopped you from saying "Merry Christmas?" I stay in a especially politically maximum suitable environment, and that's not in any respect got here approximately to me. in spite of everything, the prohibition against the government performing to advise Christianity by utilising helping prayer in colleges, putting Christmas timber on public assets, etc, does not come from the left-wing radicals, it comes from the USA shape, as interpreted and strengthened many situations by utilising the luxurious courtroom. you're of direction, loose to worship as you please, and to precise your reigious ideals on your heart's content cloth. i don't think of you will discover all of us attempting to censor you, to any extent further than they're right here. yet once you prefer to sell your faith on public assets or with public money, the form prohibits that. according to risk it is going to help to think of a destiny the place the U. S. has become switched over by utilising immigration to the element that yet another faith is the dominant one. This team passes a regulation requiring that all and sundry college infants could learn, say, the Bhagavad Gita, learn Sanskrit and meditate for an hour an afternoon. As a Christian, you will possibly discover it insupportable for Hinduism to be recommended over your individual faith. it is strictly how Hindus, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, atheists and hundreds of thousands of alternative dependable human beings sense while the government on the instant tries to choose Christianity. i think of that's yet extra info of the muse of our founding fathers that they envisioned any such problem and crafted a answer hundreds of years earlier it surpassed off. I wish extra of the worldwide might emulate their genius
