He is the most deserving MLB player not in. Eventually the Veterans Committee will elect him. It's all about timing. Less qualified players will get strong consideration in the future, and they will not not be able to ignore him.

Players who faced him many times think he should be in the HOF.

Blyleven was not appreciated in his own time, and continues not to be. Hey, look, sportswriters aren't the biggest brains on the block; just getting a FEW to realize that "RBI" or "W-L record" are not the best player metrics, and that significantly better ones exist, is not merely progress, it's a paradigmic shift.

The Blyleven drums continue. Berate your local sportswriter!

The main reasons that Blyleven isn't in the Hall:

Too many losses
Not enough All-Star appearances
Not enough 20 win seasons
No Cy Young awards.

That having been said, I saw him pitch for many years, and I'd vote him in.

I have no idea i love listening to him while watching the Twins games he is a silly guy. His numbers a really pretty good 287 wins 3.31 ERA 3700Ks
More wins and Ks than Koufax
More wins and Ks than Gibson
Yeah that's just of the top of my head i think he should already be in but i guess the HOF committee doesn't agree all else fail he should make it in the broadcast area though he is good on the Twins games.

While his stats are pretty good, especially considering some of the teams for which he pitched, I believe the main reason that he isn't in the Hall is that he is not looked at as being one of the most dominant pitchers of his era.

The writers are idiots. During his playing days he did not court them enough. There IS not good reason why he's not in the hall. The writers are vindictive old women.

He is a quality pitcher who continues to be overlooked. Sorry to say he may not get in.
