The meteor shower is visible everywhere in the northern hemisphere for the next few nights. It will be better after midnight, and will be best if you can get away from city lights. Dress warmly, look up anywhere in the sky, and watch for an hour or so, and you'll see lots of meteors (shooting stars).

It is called a meteor SHOWER, not a rain. I'd go somewhere in an open area in a relatively remote area, like in the pine barrens. The Perseid meteors come down anytime at night, but the best viewing time is from the early morning hours on. This is a good year because the moon is nearing its new moon phase and does not interfere with viewing in the early morning hours.
