Start observing after 11 PM and into the early morning hours. The peak of the Perseids is tomorrow (Sunday night/Monday morning). You should expect to see ~30 meteors/hour Saturday night and about 60-80/hour on Sunday night. As a general rule, the best time for meteor viewing is after midnight into the early morning. The meteor shower is visible everywhere in the northern hemisphere for the next few nights. It will be better after midnight, and will be best if you can get away from city lights. Dress warmly, look up anywhere in the sky, and watch for an hour or so, and you'll see lots of meteors (shooting stars).

The shower has been going on for day and will continue till The 13th. When your spot on earth rotates into the oncoming shower it should be obvious.
With out knowing where you are I can only guess but start looking at dusk.
It is counter intuitive. people who can only see the edge of the horizon often see the best show of all. Meteors skipping off into space. Quite spectacular.

The peak is expected to be early Monday morning (UK time) but you will see increased numbers of meteors a couple of days before and after this time, i.e. from now (Saturday night) until Tuesday or even Wednesday evening.

All night, but the best time to watch is in the early morning when the artifical lighting is minimized. This is a good year because there is a new moon on Sunday.
