Why does my new SUV seem so much bigger than my car?
I just got a Land Rover Discovery 1998, I used to drive a Honda Accord and now a bmw 3 series. I have researched it and the cars are only 3-4 inches skinnier than the Rover. I like it but I feel nervous driving it and fearful of turns etc. How can I get over this? I like my Rover, just want to feel more comfortable driving it. Any suggestions? New SUV driver, Lady driver.

Yes, just drive it. It takes time with any new car to get use to it, especially when its taller. remember its not your honda or beemer, no sudden movements, no sudden turns and it wont stop on a dime. but then again, it will take you places you have never been before........should of bought a Jeep though. Those broken parts are going to kill you..... ;)

You've asked this question. You're sitting HIGHER UP than you did in your Honda. The SUV's center of gravity is ALSO higher, so it feels less stable (and it is). Just take it easy going around sharp or tight turns (like highway ramps). Also be careful with sudden avoidance maneuvers.
I've been driving trucks and SUVs for years and it does take a little bit to get used to the feeling. And don't use "lady driver" excuse, either -- that's a cop-out. (and I'm a female, too, so I know of what I speak).

Don't worry - rover won't run too long, and all your concerns will go away. What's up with this downward trend - Honda, bmw, rover??? Good news: you already hit the bottom - nothing is worse than a nice used rover.

OK you win. Trade it in and get the new LR3. Much better than the Discovery. But they cost a little more to boot. good luck.

For your answer, it is the same as the last time you asked.
