Yep I'm an Islanders fan. I can't stand Mike Comrie. He's a puke who held out for a ton of money when he was with Edmonton years ago, despite the fact that his dad is a billionaire and his family is loaded. I made fun of the guy back then and now he's on my team. What are some other opinions about Comrie?

Mike Comrie has better than average skills, and anybody who has coached him will tell you that.
The problem is that in his own eyes, he has all the skills of Gretzky, Lemieux, and Orr rolled into one. He wears on coaches quickly, he wears on teammates quickly, he wears on reporters quickly. The Islanders are far and away the best fit for him since he left the Prairies. If Nolan and Comrie can get along, then I think he will probably be Islander's leading scorer. IF they don't get along, he may very well be playing somewhere else in March.

Well, he was in Ottawa (I'm a huge Ottawa Senators fan) and he was here from January-June. I really noticed a rounding and a more full line up when he came to the team. Are you getting a 50 goal scorer, 100 point scorer, Norris Trophy winner or Franchise player? No. But this guy played on the third line on our team and completly made the third line better. He gave Ottawa more intensity and more all around playing ability. Will he save the Islanders? No. But it's a nice move and of the three guys we've lost this year (Tom Preissing, Comrie and Peter Schafer). Comrie is the one I most miss.

Look, what does your father's money have to do with anything. If you can get top dollar for YOUR services, you go for it.
I don't like Comrie because he's no good. Reminds me of a bad version of Craig Janney.
If you're wondering why he scores the babes, same reason Jimmy "Truckface" roberts did back in the day. He has a trouser snake of enormous proportions, I bet, as his face is nothing to write home about.

Good speed and excellent hand skills. He makes an outstanding number 2 pivot.
You'll have a chance to watch a lot of Comrie this year and may have a different opinion of him by April.

By "other opinions" do you mean one that doesn't include disliking him? If so, disregard this answer. Lol.
That whole Edmonton deal definitely sealed my dislike for the guy. Now he's supposedly dating Hilary Duff and he dated some broad from that show Laguna Beach... Ew. If he happened to meet and fall in love with a celebrity? Fine. However, he and Sean Avery seem to follow the lead of other high profile players from OTHER sports and date celebrity after celebrity. That's shallow, in my opinion. Think they date them for their personalities? (I am in no way bashing the personalities of all celebrities---I just feel that it's probably a good bit about aesthetics/ lifestyle/ fame/ money.)
...Besides, it's not even like I'm a fan of his play. He's not exactly Sidney Crosby. :P Seriously though, he's the kind of character player that you might learn to like IF he was on your team, helping them win... That is, if you could get past the other things concerning him in the first place.

I'll tell ya what's so special about Mike Comrie: sweet f*ck all! Doesn't play D; doesn't hit; doesn't display leadership; supposed to set up plays yet doesn't; supposed to score yet doesn't. Just another example of just how far one with a dad with pull can get. Yo, Mike, Milli Vanilli called. They want their "living the high life" pass back.

PuckDat: Yes, Comrie was in Philly. He had three decent games before turning into a pylon. Danny Markov came to the Flyers about the same time and completely out-played Comrie. Thus the joke at the time: Comrie was Chris Therien's Mini-Me.

man mike comrie can do alot. he can be a pest and cause havoc when he wants to and uses his speed to his advantage to make something happen.
and if someone says im wrong after watching him in person 5 to6 times (Ottawa ticket holder) then ur wrong
i couldn;t believe Sens let him go

There's nothing special about him as a player. He takes the backseat to the talented players of whatever team he's on.
Besides the fact he's loaded due to his parents the only other thing that people have talked about him is the fact that he supposedly had an affair with a teamate's wife when he was with the Oilers and that he was recently dating Hilary Duff.
