The shop manual will have it. If you have a well-stocked public library, check their automotive section. Mine has the Firebird/Camaro shop manual.

you need to call around junk yards and ask if they have a 89 Pontiac fire bird 2.8 that is not wrecked in the rear. you can go there and take the part off your self. make sure you get a mechanics tool set. and bring lots of screw drivers all sizes of phillips and flat heads. you save money by getting it from a junk yard. or post it on the internet that you need to buy one. sometimes you can luck up at a junk yard but for a car that old you may have a hard time finding. post it on ebay you looking for one. you never know. put an ad in the paper too asking for the part under auto section. good luck. you may need to check in other states for it not just the one you live in. my dad gets parts for his old cars from all over the US. he even gets people calling him looking from other states for parts. i do know a guy that has a car like that don't know the year but i will ask my sister to ask him is he can find. my email is patriciapaints@yahoo.com give me a week to find out. that is how long i will need. he actually totaled the front end and i know the rear end is in perfect condition. plus he has one he is parting out. good luck and stay in touch okay.

Check your local auto parts/book store for a repair manual for your car and it should be in there.
