I don't think God takes away talents He gives you. It's just that some folks don't utilize those talents or make the most of them. Often, people don't even realize they are talented until put to the test. I know of many people who have become writers, singers, artists, etc., without any formal training, or awareness that they even had those talents. So God doesn't take talent away, but sometimes He keeps it hidden for a while.

I can't say I know, as I'm a mere human, and there is no bible passage about that. But I would say that yes he sometimes does, because I know a girl who was practically a child prodigy before she got in a car accident that left her partially retarded. If you feel like you've lost a gift, just trust that there is a reason your gift is taken away and have hope and faith that someday you'll get it back.

After the age of three or so I believe that talent is earned.

Why would He take them away? Most of us just don't use the talents he gave us...that's our fault, not His.

no. you take and give yourself talents by practicing them. hardwork is the answer if your scared he/she will take them then work on your talent not worrying about if you are going to loose it!
