1. I only watched the first movie, but it left a sequel open. Is there a sequel because I can't find one and it's annoying leaving the film the way it did!

2. Is the book good? Heard a few people say it's far superior and more epic than the film. Will a 19 year-old (me) like it?

For the sake of all that is decent in this world, PLEASE read the book. The movie was made for tv and left out over half of the book.
It was shown as a mini series, so you may have missed the second part. Everything is concluded in the second half. It is on DVD and you could probably rent it. I picked it up from the cheapo bin at Wal-Mart.

I know the book is long, but it goes into detail about how long Pennywise had been in the town and exactly how close The Loser's Club really was. The movie only hit a few high points and I think they only picked what they thought to be the most frightening that they could get away with showing on tv.

There is no sequel of the movie. I thought the ending didn't leave any cliffhangers at all. (Almost) everyone is happier in the end. Maybe you missed the second half?

I have heard that the book is WAY more detailed and I think graphic too. Give it a shot. Try to read it, it won't hurt. And if you don't like it, then you don't have to finish it.

There was only one movie and one book ever made. the book is very long and it is older, but it is good. If you like Stephen King, you'll like IT.
The book has way more detail and way more adult content that was edited out of the made for TV movie. There was more death and better back stories. I would say that you should read the book. It's pretty good.

Oh definitely read the book. Films never capture the story in it's entirety.
