I never saw a meteor shower before and I was just wondering if it would just happen to visit Chicago or other cities in the Chicago area!?

Yes, but you really need a darker sky than you have in the middle of any big city. The suburbs should be OK, but the darker the better. If you can't see even 50 stars it may be too bright. And the best time to look is well after midnight. Either tonight or tomorrow night. Peak activity is supposed to be late Sunday night.
