Don't compare Iverson leaving Philly to Carter leaving Toronto. As far as I could tell Iverson never mailed it in to force a trade where as Carter would put up about 4 pts a night and was outright beligerent about it. Mostly because the team moved his mother's preferred parking spot at the ACC. If Iverson initiated the trade that sent him to Denver he was at least quiet about it and still played his "A" game to enable the Sixers to get fair value for him.
Carter supplied Raptor fans with plenty of reasons to give him the treatment he gets in Toronto. I remember seeing an interview with a couple Portland players following one of Carter's worse games where they said he tipped them off to the coming play near the end of a close game. I doubt Iverson would ever be accused of something like that. So I hope not, he deserves a round of applause for past efforts.
But then, we are talking about Philly fans here, so who knows.

no. the difference between iverson and carter was that for all the headaches that iverson provided the city and larry brown, he still performed on the court, was usually the smallest guy and gave his all. he took a lot of punishment, played thru pain and took the sixers to their first nba finals in 18 years.
sidenote: carter though physically gifted was a walking health problem...after leading the raps to the east conf semis...he got REALLY soft and always bitched a lot...
ivy might of said a lot of things...but his effort on the court is unquestionable...
similar to what charles barkley did during his days with the sixers. and barkley was loved after he was traded to phoenix in 1992

He better not get booed. He won an MVP and went to the Finals with the Sixers, and he always played hard for the fans. However, people from Philly are weird when it comes to sports so they might just boo him for spite.
