I just don't talk to most of mine. I speak when I have to but most of the time I just talk to my brother and mother and sister in law.

I divorced my family in a virtual way. I did not need any legal proceedings, I just stopped talking to any of them due to the fact that there was extreme alcoholism and very severe mental illness gone untreated. Please be sure that you have good reasons for wanting to do this. It can get very lonely out there.

There would be no reason to "divorce" a family. You have no responsibility to your aunts, uncles and cousins. You are not responsible for their debts or their welfare. Nor are they responsible for yours.

Unless, for some reason, they are your guardian -- then yes you could "divorce" them.

Otherwise, just stop seeing and talking to them.

Just because you are family with someone doesn't mean that you have to like them or approve of them. You can choose to be around or not be around anyone you choose in life and make your family who ever you want. I have a friend that can't stand hers and she honestly feels it was an accident of birth that placed her on earth with them! Take care and good luck to you.

i know you can divorce your parents, but that may only be because they have a direct control over your life otherwise. I think your better off just not attending family functions if they bother your that much

If you are talking about a legal document--no.
Be an adult and take action--moving away, change phone numbers without leaving a forwarding number--this works.
If you are not adult, try to visit your friends when they come to visit.
