My baby's belly button bled a little for the first day or two after it fell off. I don't think it's serious, but II tried to be careful about pushing on it and kept the diaper away. They used to have you put alcohol on it every diaper change until it fell off - I think it worked better that way. I don't remember my earlier babies bleeding after it fell off. So you could try a little rubbing alcohol on a qtip or cotton ball.. It helps keep it dry

It is normal for it to bleed a little when the stump falls off. Is it bleeding a lot? If it is only a drop or two, it is normal, but if it is continuous, you need to take the baby to the doctor. Clean it with alcohol with a cotton ball, and keep it dry, and it should be fine if it was just a drop or two. A week is pretty early for it to fall off. Did it get bumped or pulled? A lot of bleeding is not good, so if it is bleeding a lot, you do need to contact the doctor about it and take the baby in to be seen.

Would need a little more information. Normally after the belly button falls off it is not normal to have bleeding but if you wipe it and the blood is not replaced by new blood I really wouldn't worry too much about it.

Now, if you blot the belly button and new blood is present then I would call your healthcare professional.

You'll want to look at the are to make sure it's not red or inflamed and if it is call your Dr to have her checked out.

If its really bleeding and not stopping you need to take her in and have it looked at. If it just fell off and the scabbed over, and now the scab is missing and it has some blood on it, put some peroxcide on it and keep it clean.

Bleeding really isnt common with cord loss after a week, unless it was pulled off before it should have been.

His belly button didn't fall his, it was his umbilical cord. Generally they don't fall off at one week but I don't think there is anything much to worry about. Keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't start to show signs of infection. The most common sign of infection with an umbilical cord is oozing puss. As soon as you can get your phone working or get to somewhere/someone with a phone I would call your doctor and let them know what's going on.

Occasionally, you may see small amounts of bleeding from the navel — this is normal as the blood vessels separate. If you notice bleeding, first try applying a little pressure. If the bleeding doesn't stop after five to seven minutes of constant pressure, call your health care provider.

It is normal as long as it is not a lot of blood. Just keep the area clean with a damp qtip and dry it . It should stop very soon. If you are still concerned call the pediatricians office. They can confirm that it is normal.
