ha ha! I couldn’t agree with you more. I thought your question was poetry (in it’s own unique way, admittedly)

Philosopher’s take things way too seriously and often miss the big picture.

Understanding philosophy is not only knowing content, but also knowing its limits.

The answer from OpinionatedKitten, is a complete waste of time.

Keep it real ;-)

Hey dawg, you in the philosophy section. Philosophia is known for big and daunting words, man. You jest need to get you a big vocabulary too and gain some comprehension of that thing called reading. A spell checker also might not hurt. You even misspelled "peeps." Come on now, g! Your extended or protracted monologue also reminded me of a skit from In Living Color. Now dat was a cool show, mon.

Because big words actually take up less space than saying the definition for the word its self. It gives more to actually think about instead of the 'God' answer for every explanation for everything in existence, Satan included. This is an adult section for children who are interested in becoming competent adults, not the pamper and hand holding section for people who have not yet grasped the notion of purpose.

The sky is blue because of cyanide in the air. Disprove it.

The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

Oh ya, click Check Spelling, I do.

There is nothing wrong with intelligent discourse. Please do not look down on people who have a large vocabulary. We are already becoming a culture that is language poor due to the popularity of electronic devices that employ shorthand in their operations, do our reading for us, and by the popularity of texting slang. Read more books! Improving your vocabulary opens up the world for you.

Some people have a scathing sense of humor and tried to display that by answering your question in a condescending manner; employing lots of 10 dollar words they wouldn't use in normal conversation. However, Philiospheyes took it a bit far and I doubt that Opinionatedkitten could even read what s/he cut and pasted. I was honored to give that answer the first thumbs down!

We are philiospher's. The words we choose to use are not intended to make others (you) feel ignorant or to waste your time. When a question is asked we do our best to be concise, direct, and thorough with the answer because we are inclined to believe that the asker is sincerely seeking the answer we honestly believe to be accurate. Many of the words you chose to use in your question are mispelled, the are not gramatically correct, and are somewhat condescending. Why would someone incapable of interpreting the meaning of a word when it is being used in a particular capacity want to come to this section, anyway? Sorry, if this is insulting but do you enjoy exposing your ignorance or are you just seeking attention? You need to choose a different catagory and revisit this one once you have obtained your degree. Hope you didn't have to consult your dictionary for my answer.

Well, there are a couple ways to look at this question.

On the one hand, maybe they think their answer will look right and they will look smart if they use a lot of big words.

On the other hand, if many people are using words that I think are too big, maybe it's not them. I mean, maybe it's me needing to get a bigger vocabulary.

And in the end, maybe the real answer is some combination of both of these thoughts. Maybe they want to look smart, and maybe I need to learn more words.

Just my 2 cents anyway....

Language should never be a weapon or a shield. I believe in using language in a way that allows for communication.

Unfortunately, internetspeak has evolved as a way to segregate society. I am not ppl or peeps, for example. I am a person. I am part of what we can call people.

Language communities use language to distance themselves from others. If you wish to be different from those of use who are not using such terms and such spellings, that is your choice.

Personally, I have a good vocabulary and I'm not afraid to use it. Based upon your use of grammar I think you should invest in a good dictionary. I consult my dictionary anytime I need to so that I can express myself accurately. Best of luck!

You are in the philosophy section. What did you think it would be like? There are a lot of big words used in this section. That is how philosophers are.
