The meteor shower will begin on Sunday, August 12 around 9pm local time (no matter which time zone you are in) and will go through Monday, August 13 around dawn. The best time to watch is closer to midnight or later to see the most meteors. To see the shower look towards the Northeast Horizon. Make sure you are about an hour outside of any major city in a rural part of town so that there are no lights to interfere with the show. Good Luck!

Actually, you can get 'pre' view tonight after 11pm your time, and look towards the darkest part of your sky... and if you miss it tomorrow night, (which will simply mean the most show per minute or hour) you can catch meteors all week long until about the 20th, anytime after 11 or 12 midnight. Lay back so the horizon is in your peripheral vision, and let the sky fill your view and watch away! You will be able to see the showers somewhat from most anywhere, but as others have said, you'll certainly see more and clearer if you get away from smog and lights as best you can... enjoy the show!!

Yes. Be sure to look after midnight because the meteors are only hitting one side of the Earth, the "morning" side. So you need to look between midnight and dawn. The best time would be just before it starts getting light in the morning. And the shower lasts several days, so tonight would be OK too.

The best time to watch is between 11 p.m. Sunday and 4:30 a.m. Monday, though some meteors also will be visible tonight.
Get far enough away from the city and its street lights, and you'll see the Perseid meteor shower.

Out in the desert away from city lights, or high in the Sierras are the best viewing areas. But if you camp in the Sierras make sure you pick a clearing where the trees won't block the view!
The shower is peaking Sunday night, but will last a week or so longer.

Towards the the north-northeast, about half way up from the horizon. Best time of night of August 12-13, couple of hours before dawn. You have to get away from any light pollution though or you'll be disappointed.
