I just got one for 30 dollars and it's the first helmet, modern or antique, I've ever had that's fit my head comfortably. Before I wreck it however I want to know if it would be a waste of a piece of history or money.

Mine is a military model and appears to have been issued due to the fact there was a tag with a name inside of it. Also the condition is fairly decent with only a few scratches and no dents whatsoever.

I am not sure this is what you are looking for. It appears you may have paid too much. This one at eBay is going for $19.95. It says WW I, but I am not sure if it is. It also says it is civilian and you did not say what version you have.
