You can file for a legal seperation without any of these terms. I think you are probably making a good decision based on what you have said though.

Hi, I feel for you. I also have been celebrate for that same Length of time. After 2 years of counseling and a ton of money I can honestly say I tried. It is difficult to get up the nerve to ask for a divorce. The longer that you have been married the harder it is. I wish that I gotten a divorce 20 years ago so I could possibly be in a happy relationship now. My advice to you would be "do what your heart tells you to do" years from now you will not regret it. I think that you do want a divorce. Best of luck to you.

Dear Teddybear,
Why? Are you unhappy? What have you done to repair the situation? Have you seen a marriage counselor to find out what is at the root of your problem?
You have quit too easily. Get some answers, or you'll wind up all alone and wishing that you had tried harder. Not good.
Good luck girl. Get to the bottom of things!! :)

Yes you can file for legal separation for any reason you feel necessary. If your relationship is going that way then i suggest you do so. Thats not somewhere you want to be adn you would do better to find someone who makes you happy.

you could've filed for seperation a year and a half ago...there is no law that you have to be married for a certain amount of time before you can legally seperate.

You can file...But if your planning on divorcing, don't bother with separation paper...As soon as the divorced papers are served, your separated...It will just cost you more money if you file the separation papers first.....

Irreconsilable differences is a good reason. A lawyer can come up with more.
